How We Research

Every number on this site can be traced to a page you can open yourself. Here is how we collect them and where the limits are.

Software Prices and Features

Plans and prices are read on each vendor's own pages, help center included, and every reading gets a date. The current round was read on October 12, 2026. When a vendor contradicts itself, which happens more than you'd think (QuoteIQ's pricing page lists a 14-day trial with a card while a discount pop-up on the same page says the offer is billed in full), we show both and tell you what to check at checkout.

Prices move. Jobber raised its Core and Connect prices in July 2026 according to a third-party tracker, and QuoteIQ changed its plans in October 2026. A price on a review site with no date tells you very little, so every price here carries the month it was read.

Market Price Ranges

The ranges in our guides come from guides published by software vendors (Housecall Pro, ResponsiBid, QuoteIQ), homeowner cost sites (HomeAdvisor, Angi, HomeGuide, Fixr) and one equipment seller. Most of them have a reason to publish, either to sell software or to sell leads, and we say which is which.

That's why a range is never the price on this site. It tells you what customers in 2026 are being told to expect, and your own costs decide the number. When two sources from the same company agree (Angi and HomeAdvisor share a parent), we don't count them as two votes.

Owner Quotes

Quotes from owners come from public threads on PressureWashingResource, the Grime Scene (PressurePros) forum, Window Cleaning Resource and the Jobber community. We copy them word for word, typos included. The thread is linked next to its date. Some threads are old. We use an older quote when the same problem still shows up in recent threads, and we don't present an anecdote as an industry statistic.

Reddit's r/pressurewashing was mostly out of our reach for full threads. We only cite what we could read, and we don't post links there (the subreddit bans CRM and SaaS promotion).

Math and Calculators

The calculators run in your browser and send nothing anywhere. The pricing formula is break-even cost divided by one minus your target margin, with your minimum charge as a floor, which is the same formula Housecall Pro's 2026 guide uses. We double-check every worked example on a page against the calculator before it goes up.

What We Haven't Done Yet

We have not run paid, hands-on trials of QuoteIQ, Jobber or Housecall Pro. Our comparisons rest on the vendors' published plans and help pages plus what owners report, and no page claims more than that. Once we've paid for trials and used each tool on real pressure washing quotes, the review pages will get screenshots with dates, and this section will say exactly what we did with each one.

Corrections

When we find an error, or a vendor changes a price, we fix the page, move its updated date and keep the correction visible on the page itself.
