How We Make Money

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you subscribe through one, the vendor may pay us a commission and your price stays the same.

Any link on this site whose address starts with /go/ is an affiliate link. Those point to QuoteIQ, Jobber and Housecall Pro, whose affiliate programs we belong to or have applied to.

The deals differ. QuoteIQ's program pays affiliates a share of every subscription payment for as long as the customer stays subscribed, which means that over a few years it is likely to pay us more than the others, whose terms sit on their own partner pages. You should know that before you read a single comparison on this site, not after.

Plenty of tools we mention pay us nothing at all. Markate and ResponsiBid are two of them. The same goes for Square and Joist. Service Fusion doesn't pay us either, and we link to any of them directly whenever one fits a reader better.

Keeping the Money Out of the Advice

Every recommendation starts from a problem. Driving out to bid is one; quotes that go quiet are another. Then we name the cheapest plan that fixes it, whoever makes it.

That rule cuts against us often. A solo owner who only wants automatic follow-ups pays less at Jobber than at QuoteIQ, and the pages say it plainly, just as they say when QuoteIQ's best features sit on plans that cost more than a one-truck shop should be paying in its first season.

Nobody pays to be placed or ranked here. No sponsored reviews either.

Cookies on Vendor Sites

Click an affiliate link and the vendor's site may set a cookie so it knows the visit came from us, which happens on their site and under their privacy policy rather than ours. Our own pages set no advertising cookies. The privacy page has the rest.
